Forensic Psychological Evaluation and Services

What is Forensic Psychology?

Forensic Psychology is the application of the science and profession of psychology to questions and issues relating to law and the legal system. The word “forensic” comes from the Latin word “forensis,” meaning “of the forum,” where the law courts of ancient Rome were conducted.

Dr. Grover provides Forensic Psychological Evaluation Services. In most cases this involves some type of psychological testing and assessment to take a scientific approach to gathering data, determining a diagnosis and offering opinions about various psycho-legal issues.

For example, forensic psychological methods can assist with complicated questions related to personal injury. Who was this person before the injury/harm (or potential harm) occurred, how did this experience impact this person? How has the injury affected their functioning and resulted in diffiulties and to what degree has this affected their quality of life?
